Lake Conroe is located approximately an hour north of Houston, and 30 minutes north of The Woodlands. This picturesque community surrounds a 22,000-acre man-made lake, with a total of 157 miles of shoreline. There are many communities and neighborhoods around the lake that offer residents and guests access to fishing, boating, water sports, yacht clubs, golf, and tennis. Larger communities on the south side of the lake include April Sound and Walden. Both have their own country clubs, golf, tennis, fitness, and dining venues. These neighborhoods offer waterfront homes, condos, and villas. The master planned community of Bentwater is located on the north side of the lake. This luxurious, resort-lifestyle community offers access to championship golf courses, pools, tennis courts, sports club, country club, yacht club, and a marina. There are also numerous smaller neighborhoods around the lake and adjoining areas. Lake Conroe offers many dining options both on and off the lake, with some accessible by boat. Numerous shopping, dining, small businesses, and medical facilities are found locally in Conroe and Willis.
