The city of Magnolia is located in southwestern Montgomery County next to The Woodlands, approximately 45 miles from Houston and 25 miles from Conroe. Named for the magnolia tree farms that used to dominate the area, Magnolia serves as the gateway to the Texas piney woods. With easy access to many of the major roads, Magnolia is a great place to live, work, and visit.
Lake Windcrest is one of the larger estate communities offering acreage lots, four private lakes, boating facilities, an 18-hole golf course, parks, and some residential sections deeded for horses.

Del Webb The Woodlands, located off FM 1488, is a gated active adult retirement community with an abundance of amenities and activities.
Magnolia is convenient to numerous shopping, dining, and businesses along FM 1488 and in The Woodlands. The Old Town of Magnolia, is known for its walking paths, little shops, restaurants, grassy courtyard, local parades, and community events. Public schools are zoned to highly ranked Conroe ISD and Magnolia ISD.
